History

The Romano Cambrians are the descendants of the imperial civilization of Romanii Nova, who were a mjor power in Driftopia. After the great cataclysm which rent the land of Driftopia, the surviving New Romans fled across the sea to Terra Orientalis, a far-flung area of Driftopia that was for the most part sheltered from the disaster. There they established a minor nation and mingled with the natives, who called that land Cambria, and happened to be proficient sheep herders, coal miners and rugby players. Their capital was Llangwydionwrthypwlldduarmynyddmawrbrynceirioglleroedddafyddwedicaelhwylefodefaid (The church of Gwydion by the black pool on the big mountain Ceiriog's hill where Dafydd had fun with sheep). After time, the Romano Cambrians left Terra Orientalis in search of a more fertile land, and after a long voyage by sea, they arrived in southern Mactopia. A gruelling journey was still ahead of them. Between them and their promised land were the towering Ese-Vanador mountains. However, as the saying goes, where there's a will, there's a way, and in time, they arrive on the fruitful lower slopes of the northern Ese-Vanador mountains. There they established their capital, Cardiffolanum, and began exploring the mountains and desert around them.

Geography

Romano Cambria is perhaps one of the most varied countries in Mactopia. Around the capital, Cardiffolanum, and the Ese-Vanador mountains, there is an almost alpine feel to the climate, and the seasons are rich and varied. Further down the slopes, however and the land quickly becomes more arid and merges into the vast Abu Ranki desert, which coats much of the Western continent of Mactopia. Towards the coast, the climate changes once again. The winds that blow in from the sea bestow a mediterranean climate to the land, which merges into the Cosmoritan steppes to the north.
