Sag-2 Assault Rifle

This weapon was based upon the caseless design forwarded by the SAG N.01 Needler, but refined for an offensive role in a standing army. The clip of the SAG-2 runs horizontally over the top of the rifle, containing a double stacked one hundred round magazine of 6.8mm rounds encased in the block propellant. Upon loading a round, vertically, into the chamber, the chamber rotates down to align with the barrel, and an a spark triggers the firing sequence. As the round clears, the chamber is thrown back to vertical, to load the next round, falling back down, and firing this round as well, and only after the second firing does the sequence interupt catch and stop the action. The recoil stroke is compensated with a reciprocating barrel and an extended compression rod, allowing both rounds to completely clear the barrel before the recoil is felt by the user. As such, the firer can place both rounds in the same spot location, unperturbed by recoil or climb.

This weapon fires in fully automatic, as well as two round burst. The two round burst, described above, cycles at 3600 rounds per minute, just as the N.01 PDW. On full automatic fire, the rifle uses the interupt to slow the bursts down, firing a sequence of volleys at 460 bursts per minute. The gun comes with an integrated four power scope, as well as mounts for an M320 Grenade Launcher. It is equipped with standard mounting rails, and is completely ambidexterous.
