SAG N.02 Dragoon Needler

Overview

This variant of the SAG N.01 Needler PDW was built for Kaukolastani Dragoon Jump Infantry. The standard replaceable tri-barrel assembly was replaced with a heat-resistant ceramic construct, which is no longer replaceable. The new barrel, although more expensive and incapable of detatchment, is rated for over twelve hundred rounds fired. In keeping with this, the Dragoon Needler is fitted with a 1,200 round resevoir of 2mm Tungsten Carbide needles, and the firing rate was boosted from 60rps to 120rps, and a larger compensator was fitted to counter muzzle climb.

Capability

The N.02 is designed as a stormtrooper weapon, as the Jump Infantry would land, open fire with one or two Needlers, fire until expended, discard the burnt-out weapons, and draw two more of the cheap and powerful Dragoon Needlers. This weapon was produced because of the inability of the Jump Infantry to carry full sized weapons in flight. With this system, each soldier could wear a brace of six N.02s, and level intense firepower before claiming an enemy weapon.

The use of the Dragoon Needler for direct combat is highly questionable, as each weapon is only rated for one clip. However, in Jump Tactics, there is no better assault weapon than the devastating Dragoon Needler.
