• The Democratic Republican States of Sajlamot, located in the Americana region, is a massive, socially progressive nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its compassionate population of 2.541 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

• The large government juggles juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Social Welfare. The average income tax rate is 53%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Gambling, Furniture Restoration, and Pizza Delivery industries.

• Refugees from other nations are flocking to Sajlamot's border, citizens are regularly found digging for treasure in their gardens, citizens are permitted to carry concealed handguns, and smoking is banned in public areas. Crime is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Sajlamot's national animal is the salamander and its currency is the Saj.

He is currently a member of the Parliament of Americana, Americana's Immigration Minister, and a Lord in Empire of Earth's House of Lords.

Name

• The name "Sajlamot" is derived from the word "Salamat", a native word which literally means "hello."

Geography

• The nation of Sajlamot is located on the western-most peninsula of the central continent of Americana. The nation also owns an island far to the southwest of the mainland, and is expanding northward to the northwestern continent.

• The terrain of the Sajlamot mainland is mostly flat, with a few low hills. There is, however, a large mountain range running through the northwest portion of the land. The land is mainly a grassland, but there are sevral forests. Sajlamot's mainland also includes four small islands. The terrain of the northwest continent which Sajlamot is expanding towards is much the same.

• The island in the southwest or Americana, known as New Sajia Isle, is mostly rainforest. There are also sevral volcanoes.

History

• The nation of Sajlamot was founded when the Sajland Indians met settlers from other lands. The settlers were already disgruntled about the government in their prior nations, and so decided to stay with the friendly indians. Together, the two groups built Perlion City. From there, other cities and towns were built.

• An interesting time period in Sajlamot's history is the period of time when Chancellor Amy Deloreia began the religion of Sajism. This religion is now wide spread in Sajlamot. You can still see many temples from the beggining of this religion.

National Motto

• The motto, "Sajalamus Sojurn" comes from the times after Sajlamot had fought a Civil War. This saying is a representation of the division between two groups of Sajians. Because the Sajland Indians took the blunt of the fighting, they are honored by the motto being in their language. The saying literally means "Sajians Reunited Forever."

National Animal

• The national animal is the salamander. This is because the Sajland Indians believed that a salamander was a sign of good fortune and peace.

• The national currency, the Saj, comes from the nations name. The Half-Saj is also commonly used.
