Salston passed up the chance to go to university instead opting to work for the Neudegg Treu und Wahr Social Democratic Party at their central office in Neudek.

Salston became Special Adviser to President Brite on Youth Affairs when 19 and remained as until she was 25 when she returned to Uinto to stand for Parliament. The Northwest Uinto City seat sent her to Parliament with 71% of the vote. Salston did not take up offers to be a Minister, wanting to use all of her time working for her constituency.

In 2004 she announced her intention to stand for the post of Prime Minister saying “it’s time for new Parliamentary leadership”. She won this election making her Prime Minister. It is reported that her and the President get on very well and are currently making plans for reforms of the taxation system in Neudegg.
