History

The history of Scarfaces is the story of a region that was formed by brave and freedom-loving people from many lands. The men and women who help build Scarfaces came from almost every part of the world. They represented many different nationalities and religions. Through the months, the people and their descendants learned to live and work together, and to take pride in their region . This spirit of cooperation and pride helped make Scarfaces huge, powerful, and wealthy region it is today.Scarfaces people survive many challenges and hardships-including dangers in the NS World, wars, social turmoil, and depressions.

On May 13 2005, Scarfaces was noted as being the ninth largest player-created region in NationStates, and still maintains such a size today. Today, it is ranked #7 in the charts.

Government and Politics

The government of Scarfaces may be accurately categorized as a republic or as a Capitalist Empre. But Scarfaces is a republic, it has once been called a "Rogue Region" after Former President Galiforina declared Scarfaces Rogue, weeks later The Senate removed "Rogue" from the Regional Name from "The Rogue Region of Scarfaces" to "The Republic of Scarfaces".

The Constitution of Scarfaces limits the powers of the federal government to defense, foreign affairs, printing money, controlling trade and relations between the regions.

The Council of Ministers is a law-making institution composed of the Peoples Assembly and the Senate, which both meet in Senate floors every week.The Peoples Assembly is considered the the smaller power of the region, and the Senate the upper power house.But The Council of Ministers has control of Both The People's Assembly and The Senate. The People's Assembly has 123 members, called assemblymen, assemblywomen, they are elected by the people of the assembly governer. The Scarfacian Senate has 100 members called Scarfacian senators. The Senate passes laws and bills, it also has the power to impeach the president, But the Council picks if the president should be impeached or not.

The executive government is the President, who is the Commander of all 3 of the Military Units in Scarfaces. The President signs laws into action, and can also issue executive orders and delcare Marsial Law. He has few otherl duties, among them being the requirement to give a State of the Union address to the region from time to time, here and there. Below the President is the Vice President, who is first in the line of succession.

Next are the members of the Cabinet, and the various departments they head, including the Department of Defense, the Foreign Affairs Department, and the State Department. These departments and department heads hold much regulatory and political power, and it is these departments that are used to execute the laws of the nation.
