The Nation

The United States of Schnabo (IPA: /ʃnɑbɔ/ (Schnan: Eþoêrtéb Estéb'têrb'n Escá'aníàn, New Schnan: Ажкутаву Сеаеукта Услаиэаи Ashkyetaby Sea'eyekta Yeskanian) is a huge, devout nation, remarkable for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate population of 646 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Social Welfare. The average income tax rate is 100%. A healthy private sector is dominated by the Automobile Manufacturing industry.

Long arduous trials are held for the most trivial of offences, the police have reaffirmed their tough stance on drugs, the tenet of free speech is held dear, and jails have become colloquially known as 'vampire houses'. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Schnabo's national animal is the Schnaboon, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Schnab (Сниав).

The main languages in Schnabo is Schnan, a language spoken by approx 97% of the people, and English, which is spoken by the whole population exept some areas in the east. Schnan is also more common in the east than in the west. The most common religions is Christianity (Catholism) and Schnaboism.

GDP/capita is 13,271, as of March 18th, 2007.

New Schnabo has their own government, but they obey under Schnaboian Law since New Schnabo is in the Schnaboian Union

The national day is Nov 22, the day of the nations founding

Upcoming Events in Schnabo

  • Election

It is soon time for the Schnaboian election. The challenger to Schnabs this time is Jonathan Willington. Algott Schnabs is the leader of the Schnaboian Social Democratic Party (Esocìlbìĸwokerabtérúb), who fights to keep the public healthcare and to lower the unemployment rate by creating many jobs in the public sector.

The Conservatists (Woĸêrbtérúb), the party Willington is leader for, wants the opposite of the SSDP, they want to make the healthcare private by selling the hospitals to private company. They also want to lower the taxes, since they belive that their Conservatist Economical Plan (CEP, With low taxes more starts to pay them, which equals in more money for the government) work.

There is also the Environmental Party (Qe lerôab), also called "Envi" or "The green", which is in the middle on the political scale. They are a cross between SDP and the Conservatists, since they want public healthcare and a tax lowering, but they prioritate the environment. They are often in different alliances with the other parties, which means that they have sometimes been the one with the decisive votes.

The latest results will be posted in the Schnabo Gazette

The busiest ferry route is between Southport and Northport, which connects Schnæer Islands with the mainland.
