Short about the nation

The United States of Schnabo is a small, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its burgeoning Schnaboon population. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 8 million enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

The large, corrupt government concentrates mainly on Social Welfare, although Law & Order and Education are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 25%, but much higher for the wealthy. A small private sector is dominated by the Trout Farming industry.

The alarmingly racist TV show 'Bigtopians Say the Darndest Things' is a hit, euthanasia is legal, Schnaboons are considered a delicacy, and the death penalty has been reintroduced. Crime is moderate. Schnabo's national animal is the Schnaboon, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Schnab.

The main broadcaster in USSB is SBRC, Schnabo Broadcasting and Radio Center. SBRC has 3 TV-channels and 4 radio channels. The TV-channels broadcast all-day-round with many different programs. SBRC 1 sends more news, while SBRC 2 and 3 sends more entertainment and movies. Each state has their own news which broadcasts every day at 8 am, 1 pm, 6 pm and 11 pm on SBRC 1. There is not only SBRC channels, there are also 4 more networks, SNB (Simtropolis News Broadcasting, broadcasting news from all over Simtropolis), STV (SchnaboTV, entertainment channel), FEC (Free Entertainment Channel, broadcaster of the show "Bigtopians say the darnest things", which has been criticised for the racist content) and USSC (United States of Schnabo Channel, broadcasts everything from sitcoms and movies to news and reports).
