The Shakal Military is strong and well renowned. Like most nations the Shakal organize the military into three distonct sectors, the Army, Navy, and the Airforce. All are modern and very capable. In recent years the Navy has been updated to face the threats posed by Tidal Missles and Super Dreadnaughts. The Army is remaining steadfast on its doctrine.

Army

The Shakal Army consists of three distinct sections. The Vorsacan Sector, the Armored Legions and the Imperial Godess Guard. The second wa screated only a very short time ago with the coming to power of Kristina Schraepl II to power after the death of her father Emperor Schraepl on March 3rd 2007. Each is organized in a similar fashion. The Vorsacan Sector is named after the legendary General that won the Battle of Zagreb. It comprises 99% of the Army's manpower. The Imperial Godess Guards number at a much smaller level. They are however trained the same amount of time. The Empress picked the members of the guard personally out of the veterans. They are the most feared unit on any battlefield. Derrick Braun was selected for his service in leading the Great Charge against the superior forces of Mt Baker only a short month ago.

The Vorsacan Sector is divided up as follows. Depending on the scale of combat the sector can be divided as necessary. The highest level of command is the Army Group. An army group can consist of anywhere from 1 to 5 army corps. An army corps consists of 2 all the way to 20 divisions depending on the scale of combat. The largest an army corps has ever been was 17 divisons when the Invasion Of Mt Baker was launched. These two groups are set up more for logistical purposes and keep track of the combat flow.

Vorsacan Sector Soldier

A Shakal division consists of ten regiments that are made up of five brigades each. This allows more fluidic combat on a smaller scale against insurgents and unorganized militia forces. Each brigade consists of 2 companies. Each company then is broken down into ten seperate regiments.

The Armored Legions are the other name for the Shakal Armored forces. It contains genetically enhanced soldiers that are very well trained for five years. They are also sometime simplanted with cyberntic implants such as this woman who had to be mostly reconstructed after getting her legs blown off.

The Army is equally funded with the airforce at the time and has always been the backbone of the Shakal Empire. The Army has come under new and more critical and powerful leadership as of late and is pursing the total mobility of its forces. No soldier will ever head into battle on foot again except in urban warfare, which the Shakal avoid to prevent collateral damage.

The Army is the largets of the three military sectors. Its equipment is very advanced and reliable. The oldest piece of equipment is considered "modern" by most countries around the world. With the exception of a few special instances the army is trained for 3 years of cumpolsury service. A small percentage is always on call and ready for combat in under three days.

Currently the Army operates over 40 000 armor becuase of the long and harsh enviroments generally encountered when on campaign. These include Self Propelled Guns and all forms of tanks and infantry fighting veichles.

Military Readiness Levels

The Shakal military has 4 distinct readiness levels. Level 1 is peace time with no wars at all in the area. This is the most widely used level of readiness by the Empire. Level 2 is a state of internal warfare. Such as dealing with an internal rebellion or another domestic violent event or natural disaster. Level 3, level three readiness is the preparation for a state of total war. This is also used when Shakal troops are abroad and engaged in combat. At this stage 50% of the reserves and National guards are called up in readiness for a war. Level 4, the final level of readiness is that of Total War. In this case all national guard units are called up, missile silos are in a state of permanent readiness, and the armed forces almost double in number. Consumer goods are slowly converted to the factories of war and the people are asked to be more cautious and watch for any suspicious behavior.

Airforce

The Shakal airforce is well trained and prepared. Its members are trained for the 4 year period and sent into the closest combat zone. The aircraft are very modern and superior to all others in the region. It is feared for ruthlessness and brutalilty against its targets. The past century has allowed them to prove themselves several times. In the latest war they won a huge voctory with the total destruction of Mt. Baker's airforces in just three days. As of April 1st 2007 the military had a total of over 5000 fighters and bombers along with over 15 000 helicopters and transport aircraft.

Orbital Forces

In recent years the Shakal have begun constructing orbital weapons platforms. Several dozen are now in orbit and can fire an Excalibur style laser down to any point on the planet. The one major flaw that the Shakal scientists are working on with the system is that one rate of fire, each cannon is only able to fire once per every 12 hour cycle. The Shakal Airforce is in command of these weapons and is authorized to use them in only more dire circumstances because of there huge power consumption and generally bad international standing. They have the power to destroy any warship afloat with the exception of the Hood class Superdreadnaught and a few others like the Shakals own 'SIN Samantha.

Navy

Shakal Naval Emblem

The Shakal Imperial Navy is among the best in the region. Only Arbiters can compete with it in any form. The long history is dominated by an early string of victories from the time of Trojan dominance of the Aegean to its fall to the Persians. From then until the time of Kristina Schraepl it was non-existent. During the time of reformation the navy began to rebuild and redeemed itself over the next two hundred years. It wasn't until the modern era that it gained ever lasting recognition from the international community. In the war with Mt Baker it was outnumbered 3:1 and proved itself with several victories over the joined fleet. The most notable was at Sheona where the Shakal Fleet crushed the joined fleet over 10 times its size.

The ships of the Navy are modern and advanced. Several older designs include the old Redemption Class Cruiser and the DD-12 Class. The Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier is being classed as an escort carrier because of its lack of size and capacity compared to the larger Shakal Super Carriers.
