Sheynat is a large landmass in the 10000 Islands chain, and a TITO member nation. Sheynat as it is today was founded in the 1990s. It was originally a colony of a Muslim fundamenalist nation which no longer exists. (The Sheynati breakaway was the beginning of a series of breakaways which ultimately destroyed that nation.) The breakaway was seen as being inevitable; while the majority of Sheynat is Muslim Arab, there has been a growing Caucasian Protestant minority, mostly of American expatriates and their descendants, and descendants of a British prison colony that existed before Sheynat was claimed by their former masters. This Anglo-American influence was instilling a desire for religious and civil freedom in the population; and ultimately, the Caucasian minority rose up in revolution. Led by current president James Riggs and by a Sheynati national legend named Andrew Stander, the revolution struggled until General Ali Mohammed defected to the revolution with the full support of his troops. The rebels finally won their war in the Battle of Kahsa, starting July 4, 1999 and ending July 24, 1999. The day of the battle's end, July 24, is celebrated as Sheynat's national day.

National Heroes

Andrew Stander: Andrew "Drew" Stander is a legend to the people of Sheynat. Very little is known about him; what is known is that he is an American and had a gift for armed robbery. After doing a brief stint in an American prison, he came to Sheynat to study at the University of Kahsa. He was sickened by the oppression he saw, and after graduation, he began lashing out at an unfair system by returning to armed robbery; this time sticking to government. Drew Stander was briefly captured by an enraged citizen armed with an AK-47; however, Jim Riggs, who had been leading a rebellion, raided the prison where Stander was kept three weeks later. Stander went on to play the Che Guevera to Riggs' Fidel. Jim Riggs: The first and current President of Sheynat. Leader of the rebellion, along with Ali Mohammed and Drew Stander. Currently living in Kahsa City in the Presidential Palace. Ali Mohammed: The general whose defection turned the tides of war. His defection on May 1, 1999, brought the largest surviving group of Sheynati Marines under Rebel control, and sealed the fate of the Muslim dictatorship. He is currently the Commander-in-Chief of Sheynati forces.
