There have been 20 elections in Sober Thought since proportional representation was adopted in 1928, the first election occurring the following year and the last two years ago.

Disregarding the current parliament, which is still running, this works out to be an average parliamentary life of 3.9 years -- despite there being no constitutional requirement for holding fixed elections every four years, just a maximum parliamentary length of five years.

Jarvet gave up a Moderate MHF to become Speaker, Central Province had a constituency MP die in office.
