Started by the Social-Democratic Party of Niploma in 1972 Socialist International remained dormant until 2006. It is currently actively looking for new parties and a head council. Joining simply means you can be indentified easier as a 'Socialist' or 'Social-Democratic'. It was designed to 'create unity between the political parties of the world and to aide the spread of socialism together.'.
