South Maria City Football Club is a St Samuel professional football club based in the city of Saint Maria. They are currently members of the St Samuel Division 1. Originally formed in 1878 as St. Bernardino's, they then became Baroque F.C. in 1899 before changing their name to South Maria City F.C. in the same year. Their arch rival's since formation is Saint Maria F.C..
The club was relegated in the 2004/05 from the The Royal King's Division and has spent the last two season's in Division 1. Upon relegation, ex-South Maria City and St Samuel international defender, Alberto Santa Zampesé was made manager of South Maria City. In his first season as manager, South Maria City finished 6th in the 2005/06 season and then 12th in 2006/07.
History
South Maria City F.C. was founded as St. Bernardino's in 1878 by Mayor Lucifer de Loyata and two wardens of St. Bernardino's Church, who also worked as farrier's in the nearby Royal Cavalry Stable's, in Speranza-Del-Leone, Christhaven district in Saint Maria. In 1887, they moved to a new ground at Abyssinian Lane, in Baroque, Christhaven district, and were renamed Baroque F.C. to reflect their new location. Baroque F.C. joined the Football League 1898. Financial troubles in the 1899 season led to a reorganisation within the club, and Baroque were reformed as South Maria City F.C.
In 1908 South Maria City F.C moved to a new ground, Kentchurch Street, returning to Speranza-Del-Leone in Christhaven district.

South Maria City currently play at Kentchurch Street in the town of Speranza-Del-Leone, Christhaven district, in the city of Saint Maria. The Farrier's moved to Kentchurch Street in 1906 and the current stadium built in 1996.
