Steel and Fire is a large and conservative nation that cares about only one thing, its military. Since time immemorial Steel and Fire's government, or what there is of one, has poured billions of tanks into its military. Steel and Fire is very fond of declaring war on people. It has fought a large number of wars to date.
Steel and Fire is very militaristic; as it proclaims in its unofficial national motto, "Fighting for Liberty, Justice, and the occasional cookie (chocolate chip preferred)". Its capital is just a military base containing a vast number of soldiers. Everyone in the country is mandated to be in the military; however, only about 40% of the population ever fights in a war due to logistics problems. There are so many people/soldiers in Steel and Fire's army that they are referred to just by numbers, as in "Lieutenant 0001045843", "Noncom 1014759330". This makes conversation difficult:
"How ya doin', 0000013373?"
"Fine, 0006892037, and how are you and your wife 0000016798?"
"Everything's just fine, my cousin 0000059111 just came to visit so the place is kind of hectic..."
