Swiss Army
The Conservative Republic of Swiss Army is a huge, devout nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 738 million are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.
The medium-sized, corrupt, pro-business government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Commerce. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 10%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Gambling, and Retail industries.
Major archaeological findings are frequently bulldozed to make way for new buildings, citizens are regularly arrested in queues for 'loitering', Swiss Army has become a gigantic dustbowl filled with tourists and mean desperados, and Swiss Army's army is full of two-metre tall super-soldiers. Crime is moderate. Swiss Army's national animal is the Eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Swiss Dollar.
