Current Overview
History
The Early Days
Discovered in the 6th Century by Turkish, Chineese and French explorers. After several years of fighting, the 3 countries soon established a alliance (See List of Jacobian monarchs). Eventually, this system of Government was abolished and years of Anachy followed.
Several Factions took over but their rule was always short and brief. In time, there would be no more pirates and eventually some peace when a former Imperial General took over (See Chief General Miek). When she died in 1549, she left no heir to the throne. 2 sides suddenly appeared.
Civil Wars
The 1st side were the Imperialists led by General Marakius. They wanted Imperial rule to return. The 2nd side were the Republicans led by Robert Smith. They wanted an Utopian society with no rule or Government.
For Centuries, neither side could get a foothold on the Island. Eventually, the Imperialists with the help of Magik (Magicians who appeared years earlier) and Forbidden Technology (plundered by the Imperials from a long forgotten land) managed to defeat the Republicans.
Meanwhile, in Europe, Napoleon Bonaparte had wanted power and had quickly allied with the Imperialists in the newly discovered country of Syrien. By the time The Napoleonic Wars came the Syrien Military had joined forces with Napoleon and was rapidly making their way toward Europe. By 1812, when Napoleon unsucessfully invaded Russia the Syrien Military had by now exhausted all its resources.
The European Alliance
More Wars
The end of the War marked the beginning of reform. The Empire of Syrien now began to improve the state of the country. Within months, it had established itself as a SuperPower and had declared itself a parliamentary monarchy as a result of these reforms.
During the next few years, it allied themselves with Germany and had several Brilliant Military/Diplomatic Rulers. During World War 1, they fought against the British but lost. As a result of the defeat, they became Xenophobic. It was around this time that they introduced new reforms.
In 1930, they had rebuilt their Military and had began expansion. During the early 1940's, they had encountered and declared war on the Nazi's. The Syayrien Union, as they had renamed themselves, quickly allied with Britain and fought against Hitler and his evil hordes. After the War ended, they had proved themselves worthy of a place in the new UN.
During the Cold War, they helped the Americans spy on the Soviets (who quickly became suspicious of the country), became a bit less Xenophobic and had established a foothold on gold mining. New Countries arose around them and then fell only to be replaced by other countries. They had also stopped expansion for an indefinate period. In late May of 1960, they created [[FODD.
After the Cold War, the Hound, which have been around for many centuries, became their National Animal. In 2003, a new currency was created: the Shoe. Also in that year, Military Conscription was declared and they had renamed themselves the Democratic Republic of Syayrien Union.

The Syayrien Moubtains to the East is the home to a bunch of Buddists. It is also our border.
The Syayrien Rainforest to the South-West is home to a vast mining operation. Laws are in place for the miners to only mine in one area of the rainforset.
Some Grasslands are used by farmers to farm. This area is known as The Syayrien Plains.
Most of the country is covered with Desert. It is known as The Syayrien Desert.
