Introduction
History
The TISNoBob has a long and varied history. Founded in 1542 as the Kingdom of Bobern, it was ruled until 1667 by the powerful Geraldan dynasty. Gerald IV was assassinated in that year, and Parliament effectively stole rule from his four-year-old heir, Francis II. For two hundred years a line of puppet kings, overseen by a powerful Parliament, figureheaded the nation. This changed in 1884, when King Jonathan III led a royalist revolt against Parliament. He established the A'Kinja line of kings, who ruled until the country was overrun by the Germans in 1939. Freed by the Allies in 1945, a newly-empowered Parliament outlawed the kingship and established a democratic process of executive elections. This lasted until 1962, when Joseph A'Kinja attempted to seize power. He failed, and was executed for treason in 1964. This led to a series of 142 royal executions, lasting until 1978, when George Jones, then-Prime Minister, pushed through legislation that restored the monarchy. Sadly, it would not be effected for nearly thirty years, because late that year a military coup seized control of the government. General Howard Mackenzie ruled with dictatorial power from 1978 until his death in 1994. After "The General"'s death, a small part of the country, centered around the capital of Ankhara, restored Myles II to the throne. However, the vast majority of the country devolved into anarchy. Myles II abdicated to his Chief of Internal Intelligence in 1999, and King Bob I was crowned in January 2000. By 2002, he had reunited the country, now called the Tiny Independent Sovereign Nation of Bob, and was crowned again, this time as Emperor Bob I Rex. Early in 2006, a son was born.
The TISNoBob is known for many cultural and political advances. It was one of the first nations in the world to establish an "elective nobility", in 1674. It is also a major center for arts and science, with Ankhara hosting many of the world's greatest scientific minds every five years in a spectacular public forum, a tradition started by Gerald II way back in 1566.
