No complaints with the article, but perhaps you should have a small footnote attributing copyrights to cover your back should a complaint arise. IdioC- エドの狂いtalk 19:24, 6 Jan 2005 (GMT)

Why is this a separate page and not a part of your main Alamein page? Also, the way this page is written reads more like an advertisement rather than an informative article.

Personally it seems too large, especially with all of the large pictures to be part of the main article, just out of convenience. Rechze(talk) 10:27, 12 Jan 2005 (GMT)

If this is too large, how large would the base Alamein article be if I added this? It's probably organizationally better to keep it seperate for easy reading. Unless the modern intenet user is too lazy to click a link... Also, it's like an advertisement because that is the form in which it is presented - deliberately. Alamein 20:01, 12 Jan 2005 (GMT)

With respect to the advertisement style: NSwiki:NPOV. With respect to the images and length, these images can be easily resized and hosted on photobucket without losing value. It is up to this site's administration, however, and if they have no problem then it is fine with me. --Helvetic Confederation 01:02, 13 Jan 2005 (GMT)

"If this is too large, how large would the base Alamein article be if I added this? It's probably organizationally better to keep it seperate for easy reading.". This is what I had meant. I think it is fine to be as a seperate article in the way that you had expressed
"It is up to this site's administration, however, and if they have no problem then it is fine with me.". It really is not. It is up to the community.
However, I personally would concur that this does not conform to NPOV, and probably should be rendered more encyclopaedic, ie. as opposed to beinng in the form of an advertisement, in the form of an encyclopaedic article. Moreover, if this exists at an external location I think it would be useful to be linked to from the article. Regarding the images, maybe they could just be linked to, or resized to quite small sizes as was suggested by Helvetic Confederation so as the make the page neater. —Rechze(talk) 10:54, 13 Jan 2005 (GMT)
The NPOV is not quite applicable here, in my opinion. If it says 'the terrain is beautiful' then surely that is neutral, since it's an unbiased fact? If everyone had to put 'is considered beautiful by some' just because a particular nation considers nuclear craters beautiful and therefore would not consider rolling green hills beautiful, that's somewhat silly. If I had 'is the best in the world' or 'is more beautiful than (nation)' then THAT would need to go, but inoffensive statements in my opinion need not go.

Can people point out the biased parts to me, BTW? Alamein 21:47, 13 Jan 2005 (GMT)

Most of it really. It is that it has been composed in the form of an advertisement rather than an article of an encyclopedia. Rechze(talk) 01:57, 14 Jan 2005 (GMT)
Yes, but where is the bias in there? Alamein 18:57, 14 Jan 2005 (GMT)
Here is a quick compilation of instances:
"(and are of course fit and trained). One of the highest (or possibly even THE highest) mountain in Europe ... this impressive feature of Alamein."
"Marvel at St Michael's Cathederal ... many fine restaraunts ... enjoy the vista."
"Marvel at the early Alamein architecture ...the Great Plain from it's highest bastions ... this amazing city"
"Marvel at the size of this single piece of stone ... the fabulous wildlife"
"... A terrifying experience that will give you vertigo if you don't already have it!"
"Beautiful Beaches (all around Alamein). Our beaches are beautiful and unpolluted, with clean sand and clear blue seas ... attractive towns or simple natural beach."
"Wonderful Wildlife (all around Alamein). The unspoilt natural environment is a haven for all kinds"
"You can often enjoy hundreds of ..."
"A Lovely Landscape ... There's much more in Alamein not specifically mentioned here, but we can't possibly show you everything we have to offer. Why not simply visit Alamein, and enjoy all we have to offer!"
Rechze(talk) 21:20, 14 Jan 2005 (GMT)

Yes, but if it's true then it's not bias... I have been careful to make no absolutes in comparisons Alamein 01:50, 15 Jan 2005 (GMT)
The imperative probably should not be used. ie. an order eg: marvel at ... , but instead say: There is an option to view ... Rechze(talk) 22:42, 16 Jan 2005 (GMT)
