1. Come and see Mount Corulag, or climb it if you dare (and are of course fit and trained). One of the highest (or possibly even THE highest) mountain in Europe at 5750m. Easiest airport access from Dunston, Ashwell, or Hertford - trains, buses, and even plane flights can be taken over this impressive feature of Alamein.

2. Marvel at St Michael's Cathederal, built by Christian settlers in an early period after the settlement of Alamein. Eat in the many fine restaraunts of the town below the cathederal, and climb to the top of the tower and enjoy the vista. Easiest airport access from New Geneva or Royston.

3. Visit the former fortress capital of Alamein, the White City. Marvel at the early Alamein architecture, survey the Great Plain from it's highest bastions, and learn all there is to know about this amazing city hewn out of rock and marble. Easiest airport access from Hertford or Dunston.

4. Visit the Sunken City, a prosperous Ancient Greek island which slowly subsided and sank into the clear, blue waters around Alamein. Take a submarine tour of the city, examine the finds in the museum, or even dive down for a look yourself! The undersea station near the city allows for easy recuperation and 'swimming tours' of the city. Easiest access from Letchworth.

6. The Hitchin Tower is an 800m tall tower in the centre of Hitchin. Like much of Alamein's cities it is constructed in an art-deco style (this style is very much favoured in Alamein architecture). It houses the boring, bureacratic offices of Alamein's government - nothing interesting goes on here. You can however take a tour of the offices, and take the lift to the highest mast of this tower - A terrifying experience that will give you vertigo if you don't already have it! Restaraunts are placed at the top and bottom levels of this skyscraper. Easiest access through Hitchin.

7. The Great Library of Hitchin. This library contains multiple copies of every book ever published, available to read here (but not to borrow). The building that houses it is truly impressive, and is one of the largest unsupported domes in Europe. Access through Hitchin.

8. The Cemetery of WW1-WW2 Soldiers. Visit this sobering location to remind yourself of Alamein (and the free world's) sacrifice for freedom during the World Wars. Easiest access from Hitchin.

9. The Great Statue of Heroism was built to commemorate Alamein's victory in the brutal war against the evil Karak Empire. This 50m high colossus has a small lake built around it to improve it's image, and is lit at night. Best access from Dunston.

10. The Consul's Residence is where the current Consul, Luke Gouldstone, resides. It is an important building not just because of it's resident but because of it's beautiful architecture. Nestled in the hills to the east of Hitchin, it's beautiful location and small lake keep it an amazing place to see. Built in the Classical style, it represents a lot of what is best about Alamein. Easiest access from Hitchin.

11. The Council building is the heart of Alamein's government. This is where the voting takes place and the decisions are made. Many of the important European events of the last few centuries have been decided here. Guided tours are available, and an oppurtunity to look in on a Council session.

12. Beautiful Beaches (all around Alamein). Our beaches are beautiful and unpolluted, with clean sand and clear blue seas. Some resorts are dotted around the coast, but mainly just attractive towns or simple natural beach.

13. Wonderful Wildlife (all around Alamein). The unspoilt natural environment is a haven for all kinds of wildlife. Some big cats are here (mountain lions), as well as various tortoises, turtles, etc often only found in other parts of the world. You can often enjoy hundreds of horseshoe crabs on Alamein's beaches, and these non-violent creatures will often investigate the presence of humans.

14. A Lovely Landscape - scenes like the below are common around Alamein. There's much more in Alamein not specifically mentioned here, but we can't possibly show you everything we have to offer. Why not simply visit Alamein, and enjoy all we have to offer!
