Technopolis is a region founded by Raluhar based on the principles of freedom, equality, democracy, and technology for all resident nations. We welcome all nations who strive for and live up to these three principles with open arms. We are a modern, tolerant, pluralist eco-paradise and together we have constructed a technologically-superior neoteric utopia in harmony with our natural environment. History of Technopolis
Founding
Technopolis was created in wake of a dispicable and pathetic invasion on our previous Region, Futuropolis, which forced our Founder to eject all peaceful nations, only to create Technopolis. Most of the nations currently residing in Technopolis (including most officials), were residents of Futuropolis.
Our Founder, then Diplomat (Delegate), decided to try to talk to the invaders. Raluhar was calling for either resistance of the invaders after they attempted to distrupt government activities, or leave Futuropolis for a new region, or form another one. Our Founder Raluhar agreed it was time to separate, and try to bring as many nations out of the invader's hands. Thus, after some careful deliberation, Technopolis was formed, with Raluhar as Founder.
Within a couple of weeks, the Government of Technopolis was formed. Several key pieces of legislation was passed, including the the Creation of the Forums and our Foreign Policy. At this time, Technopolis had 20 nations or so.
After a wave of nations arriving, fearing infiltration by more invaders, Raluhar, the then leader of the region, created Scan Zone Technopolis. After a while, the members of Technopolis voted in a Delegate. Since then, the region has been working to rebuild and grow in spite of it's hazy past and now boasts a population of over 55 nations.
The 1st Forum War
The early days of Technopolis were fraught with anger, argument and dispute. Though the region and many within it were peaceful an argument arose between two high standing members Southern Trodenhiem and Draneidan over the creation of the forums. The argument rose after the creation of a forum by Draneidan which was unsanctioned, the act was seen as presumptuous by the creator of the existing forum, that had been requested and sanctioned by the founder Raluhar, and Southern Trodenhiem demanded it be closed. Draneidan refused to shut down his forum and a long war and competition between the two forums began. Southern Trodenhiem's forum was well built and established, many members had already joined, however Draneiden managed to gain a little support, and this coupled with his friendship with the founder meant that the forums continued to lock horns. The arguments lasted for many weeks and in the end it was decided that Draneidan's less popular forum would be an outer member's forum and Southern Trodenhiem's more complex and well built forum would be the inner forum, and the arguments ended.
A Short Peace
After this Draneidan was granted adminship of the inner forum and Southern Trodenhiem adminship of the outer forum, and the first laws and ideals of Technopolis were formed through healthy debate in which it was declared that Technopolis would be an autonomous collective, with Raluhar as its figurehead.
The 2nd Forum War
The second forum war began when Draneidan editted and deleted vast portions of the inner forum, moving topics and disrupting a large proportion of the coding and interior links. Southern Trodenhiem was outraged and made it a rule that all of Draneidan's admin actions on the inner forum had to have Southern Trodenhiem's consent. Draneidan responded by continuing to edit areas of the forums, changing names and posting rules where they were not needed or where rules already existed that were in places contradictory. Southern Trodenhiem reacted hot-headed and bluntly by deleting the posts and restoring the original forum sections. But the bickering continued as Southern Trodenhiem demanded the closure of the outer forum, and the two forum creators locked horns. After a number of weeks of arguing across the inner forum, and a series of flame wars and admin edits that disrupted day to day life for many Technoplitan citizens Southern Trodenhiem removed Draneidan's adminship of the inner forum and Draneidan did likewise on the outer. It was agreed that if Draneidan and Southern Trodenhiem got on for a six month period then both would have adminship of both forums, however if there were arguments again the perpetrator would shut down their forum.
The Forum Merge
Following this decision Southern Trodenhiem began to push harder for a forum merge, by which the two rival administrators would run a forum, rooted by an independant party, but run between them. After much debate between Draneidan and Southern Trodenhiem the merge was agreed, and a new forum created by another member and friend of Southern Trodenhiem, North Cadia. This ended the era of forum wars, and now the day to day running of the forums is delegated evenly between Southern Trodenhiem and Draneiden.
The Ideological War
The Ideological War is an ongoing struggle between the two main ideological parties of Technopolis, these are Socialism (an ideology figureheaded by Alistaire) and Capitalism (with no specific figure heads, though Southern Trodenhiem is at the forefront) the predominant ideology in Technopolis is Capitalism, with Nuevo-Marseille, Draneiden, Southern Trodenhiem, EFA and North Cadia as the main active followers. However this caused arguments as Alistaire begun to preach anarcho-socialist theory to the region, this was hotly disputed by Southern Trdenhiem and occasionally North Cadia and a series of arguments began across the forums.
The arguing ended with the mutual agreement to recognise everyone's right to their own ideology, and the Ideological War has been confined to role-play since, in which Socialism has been marginalised as the two regional superpowers Southern Trodenhiem and North Cadia continue to fight against the ideology.
The 1st SoTroFM-Cadian War
A major RP event currently underway, a massive war between the two (now) rival superpowers Southern Trodenhiem and North Cadia, in which the seat of regional power will be determined. At present Suthern Trodenhiem is making large headway, having destroyed North Cadia's satellites and space warfare capability.
