Introduction

This template is designed to reduce the amount of text and complications involved with adding small flags to the side of country names in tables concerning the PEEL region and its sister regions. It only works for PEEL as it draws on the resources of an already established website dedicated to information and general data concerning the PEEL exploits in NationStates. [1]

The aims of this was to:

  • Have a easy to type and remember way of creating the flags in tables or just in any situation.
  • To dispense with complicated full-length addresses for images
  • Thus reduce size (by replacing full addresses with this template shaved a good 2kb off the size of the PEEL main-page)
  • Have a means to automatically update the flag images should the owner shange them via the NS website [2]- this saves having to upload the new flag seperately on a third-party file hosting site.

How to use this template

Simply type in the following: 

{{PCF|country name}}

wherever you want the flag to display, replacing "country name" with the name of the country in question. However, there are a few things to remember.

  • the title of the country must be spelt correctly and be entirely in lower case
  • if a nation has a space in its name - for example Burning Flame - it should be written using an underscore - in other words burning_flame
  • if a nation already has an underscore, or a hyphen in its name, they remain in the same position, unaltered.
  • the nation title must exist or have existed at one point within the PEEL region, or the PEEL Colonial Territories - in the case of a former nation, there is a posibility that the flag for that nation was not recorded down, so shall not work. It is also possible that for a brand new nation, the flag may not be uploaded yet.

Currently the following nations or entities, mentioned on the PEEL main page on NSWiki, cannot use this template - in otherwords by typing in their names, no flag will be shown - or a lovely little "X" will appear. This is usually because these nations do not exist as nations or entities on the NationStates website.

  • Atbar Regulak (uses flag of Teral)
  • Camp Woodstok (uses flag of Nixorbania)
  • Federal Zedoljev (custom flag)
  • Kh'yorvard (custom flag)
  • Mayatia (custom flag)
  • Nectaria (uses flag of Dvorakia)
  • Nerdor (uses flag of Pastocia)
  • Nordlands (uses flag of Spifflandia)
  • North Bagermash (no flag)
  • Oreniya (uses flag of St Milos and Hudsen)
  • South Paran (custom flag)
  • Tonya and Markovna (uses flag of Urallia)
  • Vellsandia (custom flag)
  • Villiya (custom flag)

Likewise, Merindar cannot use this, and Greater Zedoljev must use zedoljev - as it is known on the Nationstates website.
