The Glorious Federal Republic, or TGFR for short, was a short-lived union between several mandates annexed by the Democratic Union United Nations from The Glorious Empire at the end of the First DU War. Its creation was one of the many conditions placed on TGE as a punishment for starting the war, and was intended to establish a peaceful independent state in the area. As of July 2006, all but Solray's mandate are once again under TGE control.
The First Republic
After the Glorious Empire's surrender, the northern half of the nation was heavily occupied by international coalition forces. United Nations Resolution IV divided the north into 5 administrative regions, controlled by Palixia, Abascalania, Solray, Tetris L-Shaped Block, and Compopund-Complex. All of the nations except Abascalania then decided to create the First Glorious Federal Republic.
The government of the First Republic was extremely loose. Each mandate was run autonomously, with no official capital, language, or currency. Issues that affected the entire Republic were voted on in the Glorious Federal Republic Parliament, with each mandate having one vote and an additional vote being a public referendum, and for the most part were settled amicably.
After Abascalania began building a military base in its mandate, in clear violation of UN Resolution VII, the Republic threatened to declare war. Not wanting to risk a major conflict, Abascalania became a member of the Republic and had its forces join the TGFR military.
For several months, tensions flared among the many nations involved in the running of the Republic. Eventually Solray, not wanting its territory to be bound by the laws of non-Solists, motioned in Parliament to secede from the Republic. The unprecented demand led to an emergency vote, with three mandates and the public voting for secession, Tetris L-Shaped Block voting against, and Palixia abstaining. The success of the motion effectively ended the First Republic. Shortly afterwards, Abascalania returned its mandate to TGE as an appeasement to prevent a future invasion. A few weeks later Compopund-Complex followed suit.
The Second Republic
After the dissolution of the First Republic, Tetris L-Shaped Block declared its mandate to be the Second Glorious Federal Republic. Palixia's mandate quickly joined the Second Republic, despite its geographical position on the opposite side of the nation.

After the end of the Crusade, the Palixian government kept their mandate seperate, and named it the Second Republic of Eastern Palixia, but possible talks of a Third Republic had started.
