The Imperium of Might is an ancient region and is home to some of the largest nations in the world. Nations within the region live in peace and harmony with each other and many enjoy an opulent lifestyle. The Imperium is home to many different cultures and systems of government, and coupled with the Imperium's large population this makes the region a veritable world within a world for its residents.

A military alliance between certain nations in the imperium, the Coalition Of Martial Mediation And National Defence (COMMAND), allows the region to coordinate its immense combined militaries, should a threat arise. The aliance has overseen the construction of two defence rings around the region, which enable the Imperium to resist almost any attack.

Economy

Economic statistics on the Imperium are available here.

The Imperium is a mix of many different economies. Nations of note are:

  • Polok whose economy is a mix between socialism and capitalism. In Polok, the government makes sure the rights of the common man come before the rights of the company. It has also managed to bring the rich-poor divide to a very low level, by ensuring people are payed what they deserve and that there are always jobs and training schemes available for the unemployed. Currently Polok has the largest GDP in the region.
  • Valmar, a far more capitalist nation, where companies have almost a free-reign within what they can do.Valmar relies on high powered corporations and large businesses to boost its economy. Currently Valmar has one of the largest GDPs in the region.
  • Cax favours government control over a free-market. In Cax all businesses are government owned. The government provides 6 different options (labelled Company 1, Company 2 etc. so a company selling clothing would be called Clothes Company 1 and its rivals would be Clothes Company 2 etc.). This promotes choice for the people but does not do wonders for Cax's GDP.
  • Pisylvania. The Pisylvanian economy has always remained one of the lowest values in the Imperium. Nationalisation of every business in the nation has caused huge amounts of government spending, thus few goods are produced solely for export. The book publishing industry is particually strong, with more businesses being set up by the governemt every year, although others, such as the mining industry have taken a hit in recent years as the government closed many of them down and started to rely on imports for mined goods.
  • Flinndiglo is the epitomy of capitalism in the Imperium. Large companies act relatively abouve the law, as long as they still respect the government's wishes and interests.

Financial capitals of the Imperium:

  • Polokarn - The capital city of Polok, and home of many of the Imperium's largest corporations
  • Menzoberranzan - Capital city of Valmar, where many of Valmar's largest companies have their HQ's
  • Nagalwrath - Capital city of Flinndiglo, home of Flinndiglo's largest corporations. Many foreign companies also take advantage of the relaxed economic laws here.
  • Utonok - Major Polokian industrial city. This is the center of industry for Polok and ships goods to all nations of the Imperium.

Politics

Political statistics on the Imperium can be seen here.

Like the economy, governments of the Imperium take varying stances towards civil rights and political freedoms. Nations like Polok and Dennaska have very good civil rights records while nations like Valmar have next to no civil rights. On the political freedoms scale nations like Peaceful Folk come out top, with other nations (Valmar again comes out at the bottom of the scale) have varying political freedoms. Most of the older nations have single-party governments. Some of these single-party nations have elections for district councilmen, and some have absolutely no democracy at all. In the Imperium we believe it is important to respect the political systems of our neighbours; democracy isn't the only free form of government, many of our single-party nations have excellent civil rights records and the people are more than happy with the stability of their governments.
