Background
In late 2005, a small group of Gatesville members departed the region after becoming frustrated with the moderate policies of the regional government. Whereas such nations as Uppercoast, Propaganada, Stahatisan, and Anti-Masonic Paranoia felt that a stronger stance against the United Nations and interventionist regions was necessary to realize the ideals of Gatesville's foundation, the leadership of Gatesville refused to use military force against its enemies. In addition, they were becoming increasingly elitist and corrupt. The four exiles called themselves The Revolutionary Council.
The First Revolutionary Council
The Council founded its own home region, to serve as a base of operations. From this foundation, the Council launched small-scale raids against the supporters of the UN and interventionism. In quick succession, the regions of GatesVILE and UN Alliance fell to the Council. However, soon after the downfall of UN Alliance, the founder of that region was reestablished, and the Council was ejected. Uppercoast's leader became less and less active, The First Revolutionary Council was effectively dissolved by the summer of 2006.
The Second Revolutionary Council
After the first Council dissolved, the nations which were once involved in its activities lost contact with each other, and in the case of Anti-Masonic Paranoia and Stahatisan, dissolved completely. But in May 2007, Anti-Masonic Paranoia's leader emerged under the new banner of Freemasonica, and reorganized the old members of the First Council. This short-lived body quickly established a new base of operations and attempted two invasions. Xanadou and The New White Islands repelled both operations successfully, and the Second Council went into hiding.
A New Era: The Revolutionary Alliance
The defeats at Xanadou and The New White Islands were devastating to the members of the Council. Freemasonica was forced to refound under the name of Esoterium, remaining nations were forced to relocate to a secret, password-protected region, and Council operatives found themselves spread throughout the NationStates world. Nonetheless, the Council pressed forward, and on June 10, 2007, the Council emerged under yet a new identity. The Revolutionary Alliance was founded with a broader purpose than its predecessors. While this new region respected, and in some ways, agreed with Gatesville's crusade against the United Nations, eliminating interventionist regions was not a goal of the Alliance. This new order had the simple goal of becoming a strong region with many members, one which could become a great power of NationStates and promote its ideals of equality, reason, and liberty.
