Thilem

Thilem is the greatest port city in northern Havanis, and not surprisingly, it is primarily in the shipyards of Thilem that the finest shipwrights in the land create glorious vessels for the Havanisian navy. Log cabins are the favoured type of building here, due to the close proximity of the vast Boreal forest, and homes here are built partially underground to escape the harsh winter. In the administrative center of the city, however, the buildings are made of the finest imported stone. A palisade and ditch surround the city, to keep out the savage beasts that lurk in the Boreal forest.

Thilem has a dark history - for many years it was a den of pirates and villains, but after The Frostmourne Oddysey was written (see the History section on the Havanis page), the Havanisian military moved in, in order to clear the city of criminals once and for all.
