The Tyrannical Territory of Ti Amero is a huge, devout nation, remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 617 million are either ruled by a small, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Religion & Spirituality, Education, and Social Welfare. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 36%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Uranium Mining industries.
Corporations are either above the law or corrupting it, minority children spend hours bussing to schools miles away from home, education and welfare spending are on the rise, and protests are prohibited from blocking traffic. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a problem, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Ti Amero's national animal is the Kraken, which is also the nation's favorite main course.
