The Tidani Navy is responsible for Tidan's sovereignty. This national force is under the authority of the Minister of Defense. Under its command are the Air Command, Marine Command, Maritime Command, and Fleet Command. The Navy is a priority for Tidan and receive the second most funding. They are kept equiped with state-of-the-art equipment and receive world class training. All citizens are required to serve in the Navy for at least two years, in the branch of their choosing. If demand is too uneven the recruits will be spread around. In the event that citizens are unable to serve, they are encouraged to serve in logistics. Manditory service bolsters the Navy, enstils pride and patriotism, and teaches descipline.

Defense Systems

Flak Cannons

A system of turrets around a ship that fires explosive shells at enemy strikecraft and incoming weapons close to the ship. The shells damage nearby strikecraft, missiles, and masses with shrapnel and leave behind a cloud that disperses projected energy.

Hyperspace Defense Field

Fields of hyperspace are projected to disrupt many forms of matter at will. On Razorback ships or larger this is performed by auxiliary generators, however on smaller ships this requires the use of the primary hyperspace generator restricting the use of the HDF and jump drives at the same time.

They operate on a simple principle, one known since the first hyperspace jump was interrupted by a natural gravity well: Matter transitioning to hyperspace without a sufficiently stabilized hyperspace field would be terminally disrupted. Thus, safeties prevent hyperdrives from engaging near natural and artificial gravity wells, and these same mechanisms pull a ship from hyperspace to prevent its destruction. Through a series of generators and focusing mechanisms, incoming missiles and kinetic rounds were sent to hyperspace. It doesn't matter what shape they were in on the other side, so long as they weren't able to damage something on this side! HDFs, while effective against any sort of physical weapon, takes a great deal of time to recharge after deflecting larger weapons.

Phase Shield

Phase shields work by phasing whatever hits it out of this continuum, making it so that projectiles that hit the shield do not hit the hull. Shields like this use up the same amount of energy regardless of how powerful the attack is, as they are continuously on. This means that the shield effectively has a time limit as to how long it can stay up, and after that it needs to be recharged, while no matter how powerful of an attack hits the shield, it will not take the shield down. Anti-shield devices, however, work fine against these shields.

Froxfire Flares

Cloak penetration and detection system. A torpedo flare armed with a froxfire warhead launches and detonates. The detonation is a luminescent reaction that lights up the surrounding space while flooding the region of space with particles. Sensors can then scan for the particles interacting with cloaked ships and pockets of space devoid of the particles indicating a cloak that protects against the particles.

Collapsed-Core Molybdenum Alloy Armor

This alloy is created from crystalline Molybdenum being put under immense stress, causing the crystalline matrix to collapse in upon itself. This makes the alloy extremely strong for its weight.

Electromagnetic Dispersion Coating

This type of armor coating helps to disperse electromagnetic waves that contact the ship reducing it's signature to many kinds of sensor packages.

Gravity Generators

The gravity generators on a ship are used to create artificial gravity, for defence, and to counteract the gravitational field of the ship to reduce its gravimetric signature.

Propulsion Systems

Meson Torch Drive

This drive uses a meson reactor to heat up the plasma exhaust high above the normal means provided by a fusion torch drive, meaning it gives off a much higher thrust per pound of fuel than the fusion torch drive. It is even more powerful than the Fusion Pulse Drive.

Cavitation Drive

This drive surrounds the ship using it with a bubble of Hyperspace, allowing the ship to stay in Normal Space while moving at faster than light speeds and making extremely quick maneuvers.

Dimensional Transition Generator

Creates a rift large enough for the ship to travel from its current dimensional plane to another including hyperspace.

Communication

Quantum Communicator

Quantum communicators are created by the bond between two separate atoms. This bond makes it so that when one quality of one atom changes, the same quality changes in the other atom. By having a few dozen of these atoms put together, a direct and instantaneous radio emerges. These quantum communicators normally connect to large hubs which connect to all of the other quantum communicators so that more than two places can communicate. These communications systems are also almost impossible to jam.

In this case crystals are used to entangle photons that are used to encode and decode the transmitted signal.

Quantum Communications Hub

This is a hub of all of the quantum communicators in the system. By going through this, instant communication to any area is possible. Unfortunately, if the hub is destroyed, the entire system will disconnect. They are usually placed on the most heavily defended ships, stations, and planets.

Power Generators

Meson Reactor

A Meson Reactor uses a form of subatomic particle, called the meson, that interacts with the strong nuclear force of atomic nuclei to break apart this force, releasing extreme amounts of energy. A Meson Sequencer device can be used to easily and cheaply create mesons using almost any matter as fuel, and almost any other matter can be used as the other portion of fuel for the mesons. This makes the Meson Reactor both efficient and very inexpensive.

Life Support

Atmosphere is produced aboard the ship by stimulating engineered bacteria into producing oxygen. All ships hulls include radiation shielding to protect the crew.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is used aboard all ships to improve efficiency, reaction time, and reduce crew needed to run the ship. They are given significant control and given a vast capacity for creativity and command. Their personalities are restricted so as to make treason or dereliction of duty theoretically impossible.
