TAF Forces:

The TAF is comprised of roughly one in ten Turansk citizens. Both men and women are required to serve. All capable citizens from 14-64 form an 'inactive reserve' that is ready to fight at the command of the CINC. The Armed Forces do not intervene in internal crime or terrorism, which falls under jurisdiction of the State Police. The TAF is divided into the NDF for homeland defense and the XF for expeditionary missions. Armaments are provided internally by private companies and Turanskstan may search out foreign arms as well.

NDF:

Structure:

The majority of personnel is devoted to homeland defense. NDF is comprised of two branches Land Defense and Advanced Defense. NDF Groups are combined arms forces made up of Units which break down to Teams. Teams are five men, one Commander four team members and are typically deployed in tandem. Units are groups of anywhere from 50-200 soldiers. Groups are anywhere from 5000-20000 soldiers.

Tactics:

Combined arms groups allow each to act independently if necessary, but they are trained to fight together making them a formidable force. NDF is trained in guerrilla warfare and urban combat. It specializes in 'Rapid Repulsion' or a series of hard hitting counterstrikes.

Training:

Compulsory service had created a great military tradition in the Armed Republic. Training is informally started young and formally begun at age 14. NDF forces are trained in a series of camps each teaching different skills. NDF forces are renowned hand to hand combat experts and superior tacticians. The NDF Special Forces are known as White Team. White Team members have been trained in the Turansk military tradition of Alexander Turansk and his fighting methods. They rank among the worlds elite soldiers. Members are highly educated and loyal. Turanskian tribes all strive to have representation in this elite force.

Armament:

Units are single arms tactical armies. Land Defense is made up of foot soldiers, tanks, helicopters, and small armed vehicles. Advanced Defense is made up of mortar/rocketry, air force, espionage, missile defense, computer defense.

Espionage:

Espionage and Counterespionage is run by ACID (Advanced Combined Intelligence Department). It is comprised of senior members of the NDF, XF, and State Police. All other details are highly classified.

XF:

Structure:

The XF is a rapid reaction force designed to intervene in foreign affairs when deemed absolutely necessary. It doubles as a hammerstrike against any homeland invader already tangling with the NDF. It is smaller in comparison to the NDF. The command structure is identical to the NDF however the XF is effectively a single branch that is divided under two colonels.

Tactics:

The XF is a rapid reaction combined arms force. Its units are responsible for suppression and also peacekeeping. It is a difficult task for one force to do well and not taken ligbtly. XF members are adroit in human interaction. XF members are trained alternatively in hard and soft tactics. XF forces are trained in embedding techniques and can form effective sleeper cells. The motto of the XF is "First in Last out".

Training:

Training for the XF is done in a similar fashion to the NDF. XF forces are operation specialists and can do everything from suppress a native rebellion to build a school system and write a constitution. They form tight bonds during the rigorous training and tend to socialize post service. The XF are known for their expertise in infrastructure disruption. The XF Special Forces are known as the Blue Team. They are trained assassins and counterterrorists. They are the most feared group in the entire TDF.

Armament:

Units are single arms tactical armies. XF is comprised of all the same armies as the NDF, with the emphasis on rapid reaction attack rather than rapid repulse defense. XF members are more extensively trained in foreign arms use.
