Undal is a relatively small island-nation that has a long tradition of staying off the international stage. Since its emergence in the wake of a bloody civil war, the government has taken monumentous and often extreme steps to gain power over its population. However, it rarely exercises this power, for some reason.

The actual government of Undal is totally closed off from the rest of the world: no civilians or foreigners are allowed in government offices, interaction with the government is made through tight-lipped “Civil Receptionists,” and no-one in the nation can honestly claim to know a family who works in the government. All post offices, emergency services, hospitals, research centers and public works are federally controlled. The military is omni-present; squads of heavily armored soldiers with assault rifles can be commonly seen patrolling most public places, and the entire nation is monitored with security cameras.

Despite all this Orwellian control, the citizenry lead remarkably unmolested lives. The vague feeling a visitor would get is that Undal doesn’t seem to care that its people are there unless the act up, which they don’t (except in a few isolated but controversial incidents, see the Gallobury Raid).

Current Activity

Within the past year, Undal seems to have come out of its shell, so to say, internationally. It announced that the Agwanti Archipelago is to be formed into a unified region, with the alliance of the surrounding states. Three other nations (The City-State of Wyvern Falls, The Community of Kitsune Clans, The Holy Empire of Illumin Au) soon accepted the proposition.

Within 24 hours of receiving the first acceptance (from Wyvern Falls), Undal had begun construction of a capitol city on Keor, an island off the northern tip of their mainland. An interim administration, with absolute control over the affairs of the newly formed region, was established, as the two other island-nations joined.

Most of Undal’s activity nowadays is concerned with the fast and efficient transferal of power from their interim administration to a democratic regional government.
