I just paid a visit to the BookCrossing Forums, and now I understand why we suddenly have so many new BC players.  Thanks!  As to the wiki markup, you've only seen one of the more obvious possibilities.  Check the link below for a LOT more options.  Wiki markup is extremely easy for non-HTML users to learn, and it requires very little effort to get the basics right, but it's the interlinks, the so-called "free links", where wiki really shines.  Give it a chance, ok?
