Vampires

Vampires are a sub-species of human. They have the normal appearence of a human, except have two long, sharp front teeth, which are used for biting into necks. Vampires have a natural desire for & dependency on blood. Though they commonly drink the blood of wild animals, they do have a fancy for human blood. If a normal human is biten by a vampire, they die, unless they are however biten by a head vampire, in which case they themselves become a vampire. Vampires live in small tribes, each lead by a head vampire. Vampires live much longer lives than normal humans do. As well, unlike a typical human, they can only be killed by a few methods. First of all, they are nocturnal beings & higly sensitive to light, especially sunlight. Secondly, a stake through the heart will kill them. Also, vampires can be weakened by crosses, holy water, or garlic. If a head vampire is killed, his whole tribe will die, too.

Vampires will at times drink each other's blood. It is considered romantic to them to drink the blood of your lover.

In The Arctic Badlands, there is a rather large colony of vampires in the city of Vampyrus. There are several other nations where vampires can be found residing.
