Command Structure

Velghast is Ancient Nordic name for Novembaria's Military. it is split up into 5 distinct branches, the Home Guard, Air Force, Navy, Army, and the elite Presidential Protectorate. Tested only once during the Battle of Raleigh Heights, the Velghast has proven to be a very strong military force.

Army

Immediately, the first thing that one notices about the Army, is black respirators. These are worn for two reasons, to dishearten the enemy, and to always be prepared for a chemical, biological, or nuclear attack. All units in the Velghast are required to be NBC ready, in case of any immediate strike. The volatile nature of Akinland can create a power vacuum almost immediately, and nukes can be seized by terrorist groups targeted at Novembaria. The men of the Army are not known as soldiers, but instead as Stormtroopers. The main battle tank of the army is the M-5 Valhalla.

Navy

Novembaria has not yet had the capability to create a Navy of larger size vessles, and currently is relying on the Black Widow and its fast strike capabilities. Capable of avoiding sonar and radar, the S-23 Black Widow Class Corvette carries approximatiely 40 SSM capable missles. There are 45 in known service.

Air Force

The Velghast Air Force is made up of V-1 Berserker Interceptors, and VH-1 Stealth Helicopters. Capable of intercepting and destroying nearly any aircraft in production today, and capable of destroying almost any ground target, the Air Force certainly is not a force to be reckoned with.

Home Guard

The Home Guard is made up of those who wish to not serve full time in the military of Novembaria. They are called up on defensive duties only, and must spend at least one weekend out of every month training.

Presidential Protectorate

These elite Guards are always Guarding the President, and any high level Government officials.
