Then, on June 9th, 1999, Sel-Eurusian offensive broke through the Osean and Courtinain lines. Headed straight for the Osean captial of Oured, a massive tank force lead by Selken General Alexi Romanov broke through every major Southern defensive line. Then, at the eleventh hour, the Osean Air Force and the 1st Allied Armored attacked the advancing armor. It was the largest air battle in history. Over 600 planes of alll 4 nations were engaged over a 900 sqaure mile area. The superior training and tactics of the Osean's prevailed, and the enemy tank force was in full retreat. Slowly but surely, the Southern Allies pushed back the enemy, and by November 1999, had captured the Eurusian capital of Helsa. On December 29st, the Southern Allies mounted a last push against the Selkens on their capital of Vladistock. Using a combined airborne and land assault, they captured the city in 3 days. On News Years Eve, 1999, the Selken government capitulated. The war was won. On the dawn of the new millineum, Osean and Courtinian fighters screamed over the captured city, as mass celebration broke out in the streets. After the war, the Southport Conference established that in order to prevent another long war like this one, the 4 nations had to be united. | + | As a new world power, Velkya grew, involved in many peacekeeping operations, notable among them the Korridan War of Independence, in which a communist sepritist group under Ian detached part of Antartica and claimed it New Siberia. Velkya, newly chrsitened the Velkyan Union, sent a carrier battle group to the area to oversee a peace agreement. A hostile nation called Bolkia sent a large strike force of fighters to destroy foreign aid planes belonging to Ashyeia, and succeded in shooting several down before a fighter sqaudron from the V.S.S. Eagle destroyed it. Ashyeia and Velkya, along with several other allied nations, advanced on Bolkia, and defeated it's navy and airforce. Bolkia then left NS, never to be seen again. Other notable low-intensity wars included the fiasco over Very Small Island, which had supported terrorist groups attacking the Saharistan War Coalition. Velkyan forces mistakenly fired on Leafanistani dreadnoughts in the area, which promptly returned fire with massive VLS barrages. Eventually, the differences were resolved, and the Velkyan 1st RDF division was sent to conduct peace keeping operations in the area. | ||

Velkya and several other nations, including Kahanistan, Xirnium, Yallak, and Civitas Americae objected to this, and a multinational alliance known as the Anti-Kraven Alliance (AKA) was formed with the goal of destroying Kraven and freeing his populace. The war was fought on two fronts, the first an air war mounted against Kraven by the Kahanistani, Velkyan, and Americaen air forces. A large scale air-drop of troops near Kraven-held Concermo was the first touchdown of Velkyan troops on foreign soil in almost 40 years, and 2 Velkyan airborne and 2 Civitas marine divisions advanced on the Concermo capital of City 17. At the same time, a beach landing by allied troops was conducted against the Kraven and Concermo defenses on the Concermo east coast. Eventually, a cease-fire was called, due to many large nations siding with Kraven, including Automagfreek. In a "diplomatic" meeting in Imperial Raven, allied diplomats were threatened under death to sign a treaty which would force all AKA nations to become slave-states to the Consortium, the Pro-Kraven alliance. Unamimously, the AKA rejected the treaty and continued the fight. | ||

In a blitzkreig that would put Nazi Germany to shame, the forces of AMF and Axis Nova reached the outskirts of Najester, the capital, in mere weeks, pillaging and burning all the way in retaliation for a Kahanistani VX nerve agent attack on AMF forces. At the same time, the nations of Xirnium and Velkya were offered a reasonable peace treaty with AMF. The AKA was shattered. Both nations accepted, and eventually, Kahanistan was offered the same treaty. But Kraven, in a bold move, betrayed AMF, and attacked the 80,000 AMF and Kahanistani troops inside the capital with thousands of super-soldiers. | ||
