A football player who competed in the World Cup as part of the team from the People’s Democratic Social Republic of Ariddia.

Wahd was a defender who made his first international appearance in World Cup 7, and took part in five consecutive Cups. When Ranjit Khan retired, the able Wahd was entrusted with the role of captaining the team in World Cup 11, despite being a startling 39 years of age at the time. It was, in any case, to be Wahd's final Cup, but Ariddia's subsequent decision to withdraw from the international football scene for the next half-century ended the debate over his possible successor.

Wahd was the first Indigenous Ariddian to captain the team, and one of two to date (the other being Ue Alt). He was also the first defender to earn that honour, a notable feat given that defenders usually do not gain much public attention in Ariddia.

A fairly tall man, Wahd had the brown skin, dark hair and brown eyes typical of ethnic Ariddians. He was married, and had one son. He died at the age of 97, having just lived long enough to see his country return to the World Cup in its 25th instalment.
