Geography
Yojka is an island nation off of the Northwestern coast of The Zanziik Republic.
Yojka is seperated into four major regions. Laristo, in the northwest; Narien directly east of Laristo; Kubu in the south; and tiny Urnar in the northeast.
Regions
Laristo :: Major City: Samil (capital)
The mountains that surround this region are full of rich deposits of gold and iron. Most of the population, that which does not live in the capital city of Samil, of course, work in these mines, procuring the raw resources which are then processed in the factories in the grasslands of Laristo.
Narien :: Major City: Isi
Life in Narien is split in two. Those who are on the coast make their living from the sea. Various boating and fishing activities take place in these areas, and Isi is considered the fishing capital of Yojko. Inland, however, is the territory of the nomadic herders of the ethnic Lin group.
Kubu :: Major City: Lut
A large, sparesly populated region, Kubu is mostly agricultural. Full of plains and rolling farmland as far as the eye can see, it is rather empty and not very high on many tourists' "To See" list.
Urnar :: Major city: Maraga
Hilly Urnar is the smallest of the four Yojka regions. It is full of rich cultural heritage and is the origin of the Colinero peoples. Urnar wine is reknown throughout the known world, and much of the unknown as well.
International Politics
While it has always been situated next to The Zanziik Republic, geographically, Yojka is only just now exiting its isolationistic period and beginning to participate in the international community. The citizens of Yojka, however, are quite excited about the prospect of international trade and the exchange of knowledge.

Ethnic Minorities

Mzi
The English-speaking Mzi are native to the island of Yojka, though English was not always their native language. The original dialect, called simply Mzi has since then died out, but elements of it can still be found in modern use.
Originally hunter-gatherers, the Mzi were the first of Yojka's ethnic groups to settle into villages and later cities. Most of the farmers, fishermen, and city-dwellers are Mzi, or part-Mzi.

The Lin arrived at Yojka at some point after the Mzi were already settling into cities. The exact origin of the Lin is unknown, as is their reason for coming and their exact point of entry. The Taun, extremely religious and isolated ethnic group living in the southeastern tip of the island. They speak an obscure, nameless, religious dialect and are extremely mistrustful of other ethnicities. Their religion, more of a secret society or cult, is not open to 'foreigners'.
