Location in Baranxtu |
Ziaha is a Baranxtuan province. It is largely rural and also called the Baranxtuan Bread Basket.
The province is mainly Baranxtiman, with a strong Asuanituan influence. Its capital Kimesa was originally a Nidajian city, but the Nidajians largely left the province for Siraŋe when the region was annexed by Baranxtu in the 18th century.
Name
Ziaha is ultimately derived from the Masenar language word for the region.
The word shiaxha literally means "low land", from shi- (low) and axha (land, lit. not-water). The term entered Baranxeï through a dialect of Masenar in which it was pronounced quite closely to the modern-day Ziaha.

Flag
</div>The flag of Ziaha has been used in this form since 1960.
It symbolizes the sun rising between the mountains (probably Mt. Likam and Mt. Nueri); the yellow strip in the foreground stands for the vast fields of Ziaha.
