The Zion Corporation was a conglomerate founded by the Zion Cooperative after World War 2 to fund the World Zionist Movement. It was a merger of different corporations owned by the members of the Cooperative. In the following years, the corporation expanded, focussing mainly on energy production and oil extraction in the Arab world, where it was forced to construct several heavily guarded industrial complexes to protect its interests. The corporation was not dissolved in 1948, when Israel was declared. After the impact of the Tiberium meteor and during the following general anarchy, the corporation transformed into the SCORPION organization (although evidence exists that SCORPION existed much earlier as an elite unit of the Zion Cooperative, see Alleged plots of the Zion Cooperative.) and these complexes became centers for military protectorates of the organization, called ZONES.
