History

Westmoore

The Republic of Agnovilan was founded on September 16th, 2006. Since joining the Westmoore region on October 4th, 2006, Agnovilan quickly became the dominant powerbroker of the region. Gaining the delegateship only 6 days after joining the region, Agnovilan consistently showed democratic and just representation of the region on the world stage in relations with other regions and the UN. Agnovilan led efforts that resulted in the building up of Westmoore to a peak population of 41 nations. In further efforts to improve the quality of Westmoore, Agnovilan created a regional wiki page for Westmoore, a regional map, and an off-site forum page. The forum page was used by Agnovilan to begin talks regarding the formation of a regional constitution and interregional alliances, as well as UN issues and other regional matters.

Always a staunch supporter of free speech and an advocate of the rights of member nations, Agnovilan stood up for a new nation against two older nations who wanted the new nation ejected. The new nation had been gaining many endorsements and the older nations wanted him ejected because they suspected him of plotting to take over the delegateship and overthrow the regional government. Agnovilan refused to eject the nation without any condemning evidence. The two older nations left Westmoore as a result and started a new region, New Westmoore, and took with them most of the active members of Westmoore. Even after this incident, Agnovilan still stood up for the freedom of speech of its constituents, defending another nation who voiced his opposition to the formation of New Westmoore on the Westmoore forums, even when the two older nations (now the founder and delegate of New Westmoore) demanded Agnovilan eject him.

Eastern Europe

Eventually, Agnovilan, who, along with the two founding nations of New Westmoore, was still attempting to make efforts toward peace between the two regions, decided that the last option for peace between the regions was to remove itself from the equation. On April 12th, 2007, The Federated Republic of Agnovilan stepped down from the delegateship and removed its membership in the region of Westmoore in a last-ditch attempt to further peace between Westmoore and New Westmoore. Agnovilan is now a member of Eastern Europe, where it has gained substantial respect and influence.

The Praetorian Empire

While in Eastern Europe, Sergeant General, the founder of The Praetorian Empire, asked Agnovilan to come to The Praetorian Empire and rule as Consul of the Empire. Agnovilan agreed, and on May 10th, 2007, the Federated Republic of Agnovilan left Eastern Europe and arrived in The Praetorian Empire as The Imperial Consulate of Agnovilan. Only ten days later, Agnovilan gained the delegacy. Alumiel was sent to take Agnovilan's place in Eastern Europe and serve as a diplomatic ambassador. Alumiel has since moved to the Praetorian Empire, and Glaskibar has taken Alumiel's place in Eastern Europe.

Alliances

Agnovilan controls two colonies. The Federated Republic of Alumiel, a semi-autonomous nationstate that cooperates in a strong partnership with its motherland, and is currently located in the Praetorian Empire; and The Kingdom of Glaskibar, which is currently located in Eastern Europe.

Agnovilan also holds strong alliances with The Commonwealth of Ellenburg, the current delegate of Autropolis, The Militaristic State of Khabro, and The Indomitable States of Bromannikha.

Government

The Agnovilanian government consists of two branches: an executive branch, consisting of the President and his cabinet; and the Senate. The President is in charge of collecting taxes, commanding the military and police, representing Agnovilan to other nations, appointing cabinet members, and holds veto power over the Senate. The Cabinet consists of Ministers of Defense, Education, Human Services, Education, and Foreign Affairs. The Senate is comprised of 9 senators, one from each province, elected by the nation as a whole, that serve for life. The senate votes on laws, tries supreme judicial cases, and holds a check and balance on the executive branch. Utilizing a federated republican system of government, Agnovilan's federal government shares power with the provincial governments, which run according to the same structure as the federal government.

Economy

Agnovilan has a strong economy with a powerhouse of a private sector led by the Woodchip Exports, Uranium Mining, and Book Publishing industries. The average income tax rate in Agnovilan is 56%, and even higher for the wealthy. The government budget priority concentrates mainly on Education, although Healthcare and Social Welfare are on the agenda. Agnovilan has a gross domestic product (GDP) of K$13.4 trillion and a per capita GDP of K$10,625.23.
