The Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs holds one of six positions of the Canadian Cabinet according to the constitutional definition.[1] The current Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs is Old Ogastein.

Role in Canada

The Minister of Foreign Affairs is entrusted with managing Canada's diplomatic ties with other regions, creating embassies while appointing and collaborating with ambassadors aiming for a better understanding of Canada's values throughout NationStates.

Election

The MoFA is elected along with the remaining Cabinet Ministers through open elections that occur once every three months. The MoFA must appoint a Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Duties and Authority

The MoFA is responsible for establishing and maintaining diplomatic ties with other regions, creating embassies, appointing ambassadors to other regions and crafting regional foreign policy according to the Canadian Standards for Diplomatic Relations.


The MoFA is also required to assist the Minister of Defence with coordinating the Canadian Regional Defence Force.
