History: A terrorist nation activated an interdimentional portal which brought 10 million borg drones and 2 queens directly to their world.

The nation was assimlilated and the borg collective of blackgrue was born.

Seeing nations much larger then themselves and unable to gain any reenforcements due to intererence from a temporal being, the borg created

a new policy regarding queen creation and foriegn policy. Now there is a strict 1 queen per 50,000 drones in addition to the 1 queen per ship and outpost rule as well as a much more peaceful foriegn policy.

Advanced technologies:

OMEGA tech: A molecule believed by many to have the potential to be the ultimate energy source. Even a single molecule can produce more energy than a Federation warp core, and some scientists believe that Omega molecules may have been the energy source behind the Big Bang which created the universe. Omega molecules are highly unstable and their decay can cause damage to subspace over large areas, rendering the use of warp drive impossible. The Federation (from the borg's home dimention) regards the use of Omega molecules to be a serious threat to interstellar travel throughout the galaxy, and Starship Captains are authorized to use any and all means to destroy the molecules wherever they are found - an order which supersedes even the prime directive. Omega radiation eminating from the omega particles powers M.I.D.A.S. weaponry.

The gate effect: The gate effect is basically an emitter causing an omni-directional, infinite sized transwarp conduit. Unfortunately access from anywhere else but the starting point will cause an immedieate return (at warp 45) to said starting point. The gate is almost always crowded for this reason. To alieviate this, a second gate is being built and portible gate emitters are being created but due to instability problems the emitters must be placed outside the ship and must be easily detachible.

Gravity drive: The expansion and contraction of gravity waves allows Blackgrue ships to travel in any direction with engines completely emerged within their ships (making it impossible to disable). This also allows .95 of C to be achieved by all ships which helps to alieviate the threat of FTLi. It also allows for instant 180* movement within atmospheres (which all blackgrue ships are capible of operating in)

Demon Star: The demon star is the pride of the BlackGrue fleet. Utilising no less then 50 auto-assimilation beams (effective range, 600,000 Km), 50 warp-enabled energy dampning torpeados (effective range, half a 1ight-year) and an anti-proton bassed planet-killer ray based on the records of "the planet killer" This ray is rarely used for killing planets and instead is an anti capital ship weapon.
