Forenote
Random Kingdom has undergone a change from the boring MT nation it has been since the start. It is now a Late Modern/Early Postmodern Tech nation that is beginning to replace its former human government with AI technology. Its population of approximately 1 million citizens do not seem to notice the changes that are creeping into their lives.
Changes
RK is undergoing many changes, some good, some bad, some indifferent.
Underneath the Hood
A decade ago, RK had a fairly normal government, centred around states and acted on by a governing body, the CSU. Now, that is all but gone. Instead, RK is centred around the views of everyone - all actions are decided on polls, which are number-crunched by a series of computers (named the Core). This network is constantly being upgraded, and is capable of resolving ties, making decisions for government-run services, and even, after the next AI installation is completed, hacking into other computers (It can only work on networked computers in RK and is only to be used as an emergency process against would-be compromisers of the Core).
RK Infrastructure
Random Kingdom is changing on the ground level, too. Some metropolises in RK can be compared to fictional models like the "Beneath a Steel Sky" set, Eyrie Tower, in that the different zones of infrastructure are becoming more defined and separated. In fact, a new project destined to replace New Hope as the capital of RK, will indeed feature residential, commercial and industrial areas on seperate levels. RK cities are beginning to feature walls and expand upwards, and the rural areas between walls are becoming overgrown and beautiful.
