The Holy Republic of Porcu is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 661 million are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Public Transport. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Automobile Manufacturing.
The government is spending millions on renovating the public transportation system, meat-eating is frowned upon, newborns are being raised as mindless killing machines, and the government extracts trade concessions from poor nations in exchange for humanitarian aid. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Porcu's national animal is the grizzley bear, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the euro.
History
The Holy Republic of Porcu was founded by Peter who decided that in order for Catholicism to continue to exist in Hyrule, Catholics had to come together and form a nation. The Hyrulean delegate at the time(Ness Snorlaxia) welcomed the new state and soon the other nations of Hyrule followed suit. The new state florished under the protection of Hyrule and now is quickly becoming a political and ecnonomic center for the rest of Hyrule. St. Peter was the first saint elected to the position of Pope. Pope Peter ruled absolutistically so that relative peace and order was established. After Peter died of natural causes Cardinal Linus was elected to Pope. Unfortunely Pope Linus was assassinated before he could pass any new laws. The only thing that Linus was able to do was create the idea that Porcu was finally ready for some real democracy and political freedom. But it was the newly elected St. Anacletus that started that process. Newly elected Pope Anacletus quickly worked on and proposed a bill easing the control of political freedoms in Porcu. Although, several big company owners strongly opposed this new bill and threatened to shut down a large production of Porcu's industries, essentially paralyzing Porcu, the Papal order for troops of the Pontifical Guard to "persuade" the company owners was too much and after a slight stalemate the bill was passed into law by a vote of 543-231 by the Council of Cardinals. As Porcu grew a threat loomed from the sea. Pirates, seeing how Porcu didn't protect most of it's merchant ships, decided that Porcu's ships were ripe for the looting. At first it started out as an little thing, small ships being taken here and there. But on 01 January, 2006 while Pope Ancletus was away promoting trade with Porcu, two cruisers of the Pontifical Fleet were ambushed and taken by pirates of the Sea Serpents Clan. As soon as Pope Ancletus heard the latest news he ordered Porcu's military to be on high alert and communicated by phone with the mainland, as he could not leave his travels in fear of being shot down by the AA missiles that were now in the possession of the Sea Serpents. While shipments of everykind where halted and the people of Porcu panicked, the Council of Cardinals passed several bills into law. One was that, "From now on all shipments shall be escorted by naval vessels or shall be protected by long-range fighters of the Pontifical Squadron." The second was that, "From now on Porcu's territorial waters shall be patrolled throughly and daily. Also for foreign ships to gain access into Porcu's waters and ports an access code shall be required. This access code will be given to all the trading partners of Porcu. The code shall change monthly and if it is found that any nation has given the code to another nation, without the concent Porcu, it shall be considered an act of war." Now seeing how every ship that is part of the Pontifical Fleet has a GPS signal with it, it wasn't hard to find the ships. But they were taken back at a price(All military battles and statistics are found in "Porcu's Military").

Economy - overview:
This unique, partly noncommercial economy is supported financially by an annual contribution from Roman Catholic dioceses throughout the world (known as Peter's Pence); by the sale of postage stamps, coins, medals, and tourist mementos; by fees for admission to museums; and by the sale of publications. But Porcu is also opening up to international trade which is starting to provide and even greater amount of income. Investments and real estate income also account for a sizable portion of revenue. The incomes and living standards of lay workers are comparable to those of counterparts who work in the city of Rome.
