Antarctica is a large continent located at the southern pole of the NS Earth. The name literally means "opposite of the Arctic", which is true in many regards. The Antarctic is the only large area of Earth remaining mostly unspoilt. With an area of 13,200,000 km², Antarctica is the fifth largest continent, after Eurasia, Africa, North America, and South America. It is the coldest place on Earth, and is covered in an ice sheet which averages 2.5km thick.

The Mindset has a small research outpost near the South Pole, while Ariddia has one nearer the coast. One of the Overseas Territories of the United Island Empires is found in Antarctica.
