Xet Kopialç became Chancellor in 1258, following the disgraceful reign of Wit Gyu. He has been Chancellor for the last thirty years, and was recently elected to a seventh term, becoming just the second Chancellor to do so. While Xet got along quite well with the old Overlord Torm XIV, his relationship with his son, Torm XV, has not been nearly so positive. While Torm XV has throughout his nine years as Overlord attempted to transfer more control to the Overlord, he has been opposed on nearly every issue, including that of joining the Strategic Alliance of Autocratic States. A sign of the aging Chancellor's diminishing power base is the increasingly rapid pace of change back to a more imperial government.
Childhood
As a child, Xet was a loner. He was much more intelligent than many of his neighbors in Lebrkyo, even in the aristocratic section in which he lived. This isolated him, which had a great effect on his future life. Sometime during this period, Xet began to develop radical leftist views, which clashed with the views of those around him, and he was disowned by his family and left homeless at age 18. Xet went to work as a clerk for the Socialist Party. Here, he would receive his baptism in politics.
