This article deals with Cryogenic as it relates to NationStates. For more general information, see the Wikipedia article on this subject.

Definition of "Cryogenic"

Frozen at extremely low temperatures. The field of cryogenics is attempting to produce temperatures as close to absolute zero (0 Kelvin) as possible. Absolute zero is the temperature at which molecules stop moving altogether.

Uses

Cryogenics can be used to cool reactors in future-tech, or to put people into Cryostasis, or for various other purposes. Cryogenics often use liquid Helium (4 Kelvin) or liquid Nitrogen (77 Kelvin) to attain the levels needed. Many electromagnetic technologies require Cryogenic cooling or Cryogenically cooled Superconductors to function.
