Aleruve

The Nation of ALeruve is a well established Nation in The Middle East. Aleruve is well known for it's moderately sized military, giving it little actual military powers. Perhaps the most powerful part of the Aleruvian military lies in it's intelligence agency. Aleruve has historically tended to keep to itself, and not meddle in other countries matters, most likely due to the strong Libertarian influence in the country.

History of Aleruve

Earliest historical texts imply that Aleruve's roots begin as nomadic tribes around 100 B.C. that banded to fight invading forces. According to the Codex de Aleruve, after the wars with the unknown invading forces, the nomadic tribes formed a close alliance. The alliance proved sucessful, causing the tribes to form united nations binded by trade, defense, and culture. Around 59 A.C., the all but fully united nations of the nomadic tribes finally united under most powerful state known as Aleruve, who was led by Rand I of Aleruve. Rand I declared himself as the first Grand Emir. Rand I quickly created a strong and free government, establishing laws, and a strong volunteer militia.

The Great War

Near the end of Rand I's rule (around 78 A.C.), another invading force had come. Rand I and many other leader of the time were veterans of the first invasions that had served as a catalyst for Aleruve's nationhood. The invading force was and is never identified, but most scholars beleive that the invading force was most likely a large faction of pirates that had made their way to the mainland of the Middle East. Immediately, volunteers were summoned to the western edge of Aleruve to protect a group of villages from pillaging. The Aleruvian forces were greatly devastated in front battle, but a greatly successful gurellia war was waged by Marus Veras, the lead general of the frontline forces. Among those who spent Five years on the Western Lines, Galen Sora emerged as a brilliant medic. He had created a legendary medical corp., and pioneered military medicine, including removal of projectile weapons, stitching, and even eye surgery. The Great War also created one of the greatest military intelligence agencies in the world. Marcus Veras implemented a system of spies and an intelligence system contributing to the gurellia war effort.
