Vanessa Carpenter is the current manager of the Bedistan national football team and played for that team in World Cups 19 through 22. She was an integral part of the force that led Bedistan to its first ever World Cup win in the 21st running of the tournament along with strike partner Alejandro Vantrease, and has been recognized as possibly the greatest female striker ever in all NationStates. She also saw moderate domestic success at Streetian club Vimesbairn United, where she played for several years. More recently, she has become only the second Bedistani ever chosen to coach a foreign team (Kyle Dean being the first). Her presence at Druidan club Parkville has already been shown to be highly beneficial. In her very first season as a coach there, she guided Parkville to win the DFA Cup, defeating Coleford Town 1-0 in the final. This makes her the first ever Bedistani to win a major trophy coaching a foreign club.
As of the end of her playing career, Carpenter was tied for sixth most-capped player and was Bedistan's second highest scorer behind Darren Morlock.
