Born Alexander Charles Jameson in the Wynham district of Central Cliffton , Maanenland, Alex started his political career campaigning for the Communist Party of Mannenland and stood for election at the age of 18 for his home constituency of Wynham West at which he recorded a dismal turnout. After the election he switched his allegiance to the rapidly expanding "Mannenland First" party and rose quickly through the ranks after delivering memorable and moving speeches to the party faithful at the annual party confrences.
Despite achieving some fame and admiration from the public he failed to secure an election seat at the following general election. Somewhat dismayed he signed up for the Royal Maanden Navy as an intelligance officer on board the then new fleet of subarmines . During his tenure in the naval fleet Commander Jameson gained many medals for valour in operations and was awarded the Vanguard Cross (Maanenland's highest honour) in 1984 after sucessfully fighting off a band of heavily armed privateers saving the lives of hundereds of mariners both merchant and military. In 1988 Jameson was decomissioned with full honours and stood once again for election for his party but this time in the safe seat of Ternpool Western.
After securing a seat in the House of Boroughs in the 1991 election he was appointed as a junior minister in Ministry of Commerce where he quickly rose through the ranks as a naval commerce expert and three years later , to the surprise of most political analysts , he was appointed to Lord Marshal of Commerce in the National Executive Committee. Soon after being appointed to the post the government of Joseph Phealan ordered that the budget deficit be slashed and so the responsibility fell on Jameson. A lifetime advocate of free market reform he took the oppirtunity to sell-off the loss making national industries which sparked off the Long Week Crisis.
