The im-Bashi Dynasty in Quneya "Turnosse im-Bashio"

In ancient Quneya im-Bashi translates to "Ruler of All Under Heaven." The im-Bashi Dynasty has reigned over Tomania for more than two thousand years, it remains the worlds longest lasting ruling house.

The first patriarch of the im-Bashi House was Glorfindel, or Tarminwë, as tradition goes the first male born from the first wife of the emperor would become patriarch and emperor. However, if there were no legitimate male heirs the first daughter would become matriarch and empress. Throughout the two-thousand years of the im-Bashi Dynasty only five women have ever ascended to the throne: Ishtar (r.2000-), Tasarië (r.801-851), Lairë (r.755-770), Varyall (r.692-755), Yvania (r.397-470). (For a complete list of all the Tomanian monarchs: Sovereign of Tomania)

At one time the word of the im-Bashi was law, they had apsolute autrhoty over all aspects of empire, military, and government. However, some emperors were lax and lazy and would give more and more authority and duties to the Supreme Cordon. As tradition states the voice of the emperor was to pure for any mere mortal to hear, but, the Supreme Cordon was "cleansed" and his ears were “purified” so that he may be able to hear the sovereigns voice. Therefore, the power and autocratic responsibilities of the emperors diminished and the authority of the Supreme Cordon became absolute. Though, powerless, the im-Bashi are still considered holy and the emperor to be a god.
