The Republic of Blaglug
The Official Name of Balglug is the Republic of Blaglug
Structure of the Republican Government
The government is a federal democracy with three main branches: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial.
The Legislative Branch
The only function the Legislative Branch serves in the Republic is the passing of law. All treaties and other laws must be passed by a 2/3 majority in all houses of Congress. The houses of congress are:
- The Senate
- The Peoples's Assembley
- The Council of Territories
The most powerful house is the Senate, followed by the People's Assembly, and last the Council of Territories. In the Senate, each territory has 3 senators as delegates. This brings the total to 30. In the People's Assembly, each territory has a number of delegates proportional to their population. In the Council of Territories, each territory of the Republic has 1 exclusive seat, plus more seats depending on their degree of assositation in the Republic. There are currently only full territories in the Republic, so each territory only has one delegate.
The Executive Branch
The Executive Branch's main purpose is to enofrce the laws made by the Legislative Branch. It is headed by an elected President, who is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, and is the Head of State. Also, there is a Cabinet that advises the President.

The Judicial Branch
The Judicial Branch's main function within the governent is to interpert the law and maintian the dignity of the Republic. This means that all treaties must also be approved by the High Court of the Republic before they become law. Also, any amendments to the Constitution of the Republic that may endanger the rights of citizens as humans can be struck down by this body. The High Court of the Republic is the most supream judicial body in the nation, but only has appalate jurisdiction except in cases of international treaty and amendment approval as stated above. There are 17 justices on this body, 1 from each territory and then an additional 7 justices appointed by the President and approved by the Senate.
Armed Forces
The Blaglug Military is comprised of 3 different branches: the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force. The main purpose of the military is homeland security due to the fact that it is a small and peaceful nation. Most training and weapons are supplied by the Democratic Empire of Cravan, as well as a majority of foreign defense.
